Mr. Reta Martínez has been a consultant for more than 35 years, specializing in Energy, Infrastructure, Telecommunications, Tourism and Teaching Projects.
Before being a co-founder of CONASAS, Mr. Reta worked for 6 years in the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), collaborating in the processes of integration of the national electric industry of the time, in the relationship and negotiation with the three National Trade Unions whom had contractual relationship with CFE. He participated in the negotiation of the first external credit that was issued as debt bonds that the CFE launched internationally, since Mexico didn’t have access to the international financial markets since the time of the Mexican Revolution. Likewise, he was responsible for the Rural Electrification Program and Director of Editorial CFE, which published the first Manual of Civil Engineering in Mexico, together with the School of Engineering of the UNAM. In the same way he collaborated in the technical body that culminated the Nuclear Power Plant Project of Laguna Verde. Currently, it continues to be the only power generation plant of its type in Mexico and Latin America.
Subsequently, as Director of Credit and Financial Investments and later as General Director of the National Fund for Tourism Promotion (FONATUR) led the team that restructured the debt it had with the World Bank, the right to clean up the financial assets that this agency had , for example, National Hotel and the power to operate the financing to the hotel infrastructure for the first time in First Floor. Likewise, he was responsible for accelerating the development of Los Cabos, Loreto-Nopolo, Huatulco and particularly Cancun, which today has become the most important tourist destination in the country.
Later he was co-founder of the consultancy firm Consejeros y Asesores Asociados S.C. (CONASAS), having held a position since it’s foundation as Managing Partner of the firm, who since its foundation has developed more than 500 projects for the private and public sectors. He served as President of the National Chamber of Consulting Firms (CNEC) 2005-2008. He currently chairs the Advisory Board of this same Chamber. He has been Counselor of the Board of Directors, Treasurer and Vice President of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United Mexican States (CONCAMIN). He serves as Counselor of the Mexican Institute for Standardization and Certification (IMNC).
In the field of education at UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico) he was co-founder of the Postgraduate Division of the Faculty of Accounting and Administration, of the Graduate Division of the Faculty of Architecture, and co-founder of the Postgraduate Division of the Faculty of Accounting and Administration of the University of the State of Mexico. He has been a professor at the Graduate Division of the School of Accounting and Administration of the UNAM for more than 30 years.
In addition, he is a senior member of different boards of directors where he cooperates with his participation in the discussion and the solution of problems confronting these corporations.
Mr. Reta has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
